  • "Distinguished Legislator Award" from Boston Bar Association in 2017.

  • "Legislator of the Year Award" from Work, Community, Independence in 2017.

  • "Women in Politics Making a Difference Award" from the Women's Legislative Network of the National Conference of State Legislatures in 2017.

  • "Legislative Champion Award" from Newton METCO on April 29th, 2017.

  • "Carmella Gregorie Woman of the Year Award" from Disability Triangle in April 2016.

  • "Leadership and Advocacy Award" from the Massachusetts Clubhouse Coalition on April 15, 2015.

  • "MANA Legislator of the Year" from the Massachusetts Association of Nurse Anesthetists on April 11, 2015.

  • "Excellence in Nursing Research Award" from the Massachusetts American Nurses Association on April 10, 2015.

  • "Outstanding Legislator Award" from the Massachusetts Adolescent Sex Offender Coalition/Massachusetts Association of the Treatment of Sexual Abusers on April 10, 2015 for her legislative leadership to stop sexual violence.

  • "Legislator of the Year Award" from the Provider's Council on November 17, 2014.

  • "Vinfen Public Official of the Year Award" on October 15, 2014 for her support of the community system of services for individuals with psychiatric or developmental disabilities

  • "Champion of the Arts Award" from Arts/Learning on May 19, 2014 for her work on STEM to STEAM, adding the Arts to the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics curriculum.

  • "2013 Green Decade Individual Environmental Leadership Award" on May 28, 2013 for her tremendous efforts and support for the Lower Falls Community Center’s deep energy retrofit project. In 2008, she requested $500,000 in a Capital Bond Bill for the Community Center repairs, which was approved by the Legislature and later funded by Governor Patrick.

  • "2013 Caring Bear Award" winner from the Provider's Council Caring Force for her leadership and support of human service programs & workers.

  • "Newton Conservators 2012 Charles Johnson Maynard Award" in May 2012. This award was given by the Newton Conservators and recognizes efforts to improve biodiversity, habitat reclamation and natural resource protection.  This Award recognized the successful restoration and reconstruction of the old rail trestle bridge crossing the Charles River in Lower Falls.

  • "ARC Outstanding Legislator of the Year" in March, 2012. This award is given by the ARC of Massachusetts and recognizes Representative Khan's constant voice for the disability community throughout her tenure as House Chair of the Joint Committee on Children, Families and Persons with Disabilities. 

  • "Mass NOW 2011 Legislator of the Year" in November, 2011.  This award is given to a legislator by Mass NOW who has shown longstanding commitment to and advocated on behalf of many of the issues that MassNOW supports including; paid sick days, access to safe and healthy birth options and reproductive rights, transgender rights, among many others. 

  • "Valuing Our Children Award" in April, 2011. This award is given by the Children's Trust Fund annually to legislators who have shown outstanding commitment to child abuse prevention, and helped in improving the lives of children across the Commonwealth.

  • "Children's Choice Award" in February, 2011 from the Children's League of Massachusetts for her strong advocacy and work on behalf the children, youth and families of the Commonwealth.

  • Recognized by the Children's Mental Health Campaign in May, 2010 for her landmark efforts to improve access to quality mental health services for children and adults in the Commonwealth.  

  • "Girls Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts Recognition Award"  in April, 2010 for her valuable support, particularly for the Girl Scouts Behind Bars Program and her advocacy for women in prison and their children.

  • "Friends of School Nursing Award" in April, 2010 by the Massachusetts School Nurse Organization.

  • "Celebrating Partners in Permanency" Recognition Award from the Children's Services of Roxburyin February, 2010 for her contribution to working to achieve permanency for children across the Commonwealth.

  • "Legislator of the Year Award" in 2008 by the Massachusetts Psychiatric Society.

  • "Soaring to Success Award" in 2008 by the Parent-Child Home Program.

  • Recognized in February of 2008 by SPAN, INC.,for her work advocating for prison reform on Beacon Hill.

  • Recognized in October of 2007 by the American College of Nurse Mid-wives for her support and vital contribution to the profession of midwifery.

  • "Pacesetter Award" in 2007 by WiLL/WAND (The Women Legislators' Lobby /Women's Action for New Directions).

  • "Legislator of the Year Award" in 2006 by the Massachusetts Psychological Association.

  • "Global Warming Hero Award" in 2006 by MassPIRG.

  • "Leadership Award" in 2006 by the Massachusetts Suicide Prevention Coalition.

  • "Legislative Leadership Award" in 2005 from the Friends: Voices of Rehabilitation and Recovery.

  • "Star Award" in 2005 from the Newton Community Service Center.

  • "Community Advocate of the Year" in 2004 from Work, Community, Independence (WPI) for her "Advocacy and Support of People with Developmental Disabilities"

  • “Positive Impact Award” in 2004 by the Parent/Professional Advocacy League (PAL).

  • “Legislative Leader” in 2004 by the Massachusetts Public Health Association.

  • “Legislator of the Month” in September 2004 by the Massachusetts Medical Society.

  • “Legislator of the Year” in 2004 by the Massachusetts Women’s Bar Association.

  • "Pillar of Justice Award" in 2003 by the Boston Bar Association and Greater Boston Legal Services for her role in saving legal aid services for low-income Massachusetts residents.

  • Recognized in 2003 by the Massachusetts Correctional Legal Services for her work in the area of criminal justice.

  • "Charles Johnson Maynard Award" in 2002 by the Newton Conservators for her efforts to protect natural resources.

  • "Legislator of the Year" in 2001 from the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill, Massachusetts Chapter.
