H. 1491 would establish a special commission to make recommendations regarding the needs and issues within advanced practice nursing including the supply and demand for advanced practice nursing services, the barriers to practice, and the cost-effectiveness of advanced practice nursing and strategies to further develop the roles of advanced practice nurses in improving access to primary care, obstetrical and gynecological care, anesthesia care and mental health services. The commission would make this report and supply recommended legislation or regulatory changes within five months after the effective date of H. 1491.
