The bill proposes that providers have access to the state’s Group Insurance Commission (GIC) to increase access to health insurance products and to control insurance costs. Due to the large buying power of the GIC, its pricing may be more favorable than what a provider can obtain for similar products. This bill will adequately allow human service providers access to the multiple plans and rates of the Commonwealth’s Group Insurance Commission (GIC) currently provides.
